Foods for toddlers
Foods for toddlers:
Toddlers love to
eat with their fingers!
They are far more likely to eat what you have put in front of them if they can pick it up easily.
Colour and variety of shape, texture and taste will also encourage your toddler to eat.
- Try a plate of different fruits, such as grapes, strawberries, melon chunks and sliced kiwi.
- Alternatively, a bowl of pasta mixed with cheese chunks - why not add some pineapple as well?
- Vegetables are usually more popular if they can be eaten with fingers. Steam or lightly boil the vegetables and wait for them to cool. Try your child on broccoli (or trees as my children always called them!), with carrots, peas and sweetcorn.
- Hard boiled eggs, quartered and served with vegetables or salad vegetables such as red pepper and cucumber sticks makes a tasty snack.
- Small sandwiches or 'soldiers' with or without a topping also make a nutritious snack for a hungry toddler!
