A superior child book about autism is 'Healing the New Childhood Epidemics' by Kenneth Bock. It's particularly good for people new to Autism. I also like '1001 Great Ideas for Teaching and Raising Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders' by Veronica Zysk. I have found this useful when I have had autistic children in my class.
