About us:

Hi! I'm Cathy from the UK. I am married to Noel and we are both teachers and parents of two monstrous, er, I mean wonderful boys!

Seriously, they are wonderful, although both are able to be monstrous as well! One is thirteen and the other is seven.

The seven year old is adopted. He has been with us since he was 9 months old. We have, in our time, also fostered two children, although they have moved on now.

We started off both as secondary school teachers but I more recently converted to primary teaching, before starting this website.

Our experience, therefore, with children, is wide. I hope that this website shows that. I have tried to keep the tone light, although I am aware how hard parenting can be.

My main aim is to reassure parents, (who can be the worst worriers in the world!), that they are doing OK.

Parenting can be very isolating, and it isn’t much appreciated by the world of work, so it is easy to lose self esteem, especially for those who are full time parents, and even more so if they feel they can't even do that right!
